I've got no problem connecting to a home WI-FI, I'm close to cloud, BT Openzone and BTFON networks which enables me to connect but when I open safari or facebook, it tells me I'm not connected. The BT WiFi help page actually hints that this is no longer possible without paying, which seems to go against the whole ethos of the FON network to which it belongs. If anyone has managed to successfully login *for free* to a BTFON / BTWiFI / BTOpenzone hotspot with a FON account (NOT a BT Broadband account) please let us know!

It drops maybe every ten minutes, so you have to re-sign on. It would be slightly more bearable if the signon parameters were Free BT Wi-Fi for BT Broadband and BT Mobile customers. With BT Broadband and BT Mobile, you get free access to the UK's largest wi-fi network - that means more than 5 million BT Wi-Fi hotspots.
